SimCity’s ‘Non-Critical’ Features Temporarily Disabled

Watch the EA blimp explode and take all of its customers with it!
This article is over 11 years old and may contain outdated information

Oh, boy! Electronic Arts is at it again. For those of you keeping track, for at least the last decade, EA has been one of the worst video game companies in the business. They’re the worst not in terms of how much money they make, but rather how greedy and incompetent they are. The recent SimCity debacle drives this message home even more.

Electronic Arts has decided to try and fix the servers in order to do some damage control. How are they doing this? Well, one of the ways is by disabling “non-critical features” temporarily until the issue is fixed.

The features being disabled are leader boards, achievements, and region filters. This will be happening in a hotfix which also includes some other unspecified improvements.

As much as I love seeing EA make fools of themselves, hopefully they can get their act together long enough to improve the situation for the SimCity fans who purchased the game. The least they could do is make it playable for everyone who bought it.
