BitHuffel, a indie dutch development studio, just released a trailer for its upcoming game Sinner’s Sorrow. Currently being developed by Ruud Koorevaar and Anton van Es, Sinner’s Sorrow is said to take inspiration from a myriad of games such as Dark Souls, Limbo, Bayonetta, Castlevania and others; it is a 2D atmospheric action adventure where you play as a Sinner who has to fight his inner demons.

bitHuffel says the game combines dynamic action combat and a heavy atmosphere with aspects of puzzle solving, light platforming and influences from the Metroidvania genre.  Currently they have not announced a release date.
