Skylanders: Swap Force

Check Out The All New Skylanders: Swap Force

At E3 last week we got a good look at the new Skylanders: Swap Force. If you haven’t played Skylanders before it is a game where you collect real-life figures and use a magic portal to bring them to life in-game. The games are appropriate for any age and the wonderful story can keep both children and adults entertained. They also play dirty by appealing to our obsession for collecting things with over 150 figures to collect between the first two games alone.

The new Swap Force will bring the all new ability to take 2 different characters and combine them to make an all new character. They will be introducing 16 new figures with the swap ability, the tops and bottoms will be able to be removed and interchanged between figures. With the possible combinations of the 16 figures this makes a whopping 256 different combinations you can make. The figures also feature their own “Brain” in which your personal progression in the game is saved so you can carry your figure over to a friend’s house and continue from where you left off.

If you haven’t played Skylanders before I highly recommend it. It might not look like your kind of game but, after reluctantly playing it with my son, I found myself playing it much more than he did. Check it out when it lands in stores for the Nintendo 3DS, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Wii U, Wii, Xbox 360, and the Xbox One on October 13th of this year.
