After a lot of speculation we finally get a sneak peek at the new title in the Sonic series. Yesterday, May 28th, a debut trailer was released for Sonic: Lost World.
Whenever I see Sonic I get nostalgic memories of playing my Sega to death, and so many hours of my life spent collecting rings. I remember having to jam the game in as hard as I could and press the button really fast just to get it to turn on; ah memories.
Sonic: Lost World will take place on a planet called Lost Hex, with many worlds that shift between both 2D and 3D gameplay. Sonic will be protecting small animals from the Deadly Six, a group of villains terrorizing Lost Hex. He will also be equipped with all new powers called Color Powers, sort of like the Wisp Powers in Sonic Colors. This new title will be a Nintendo exclusive, releasing only on the 3DS and the Wii U by the end of 2013.
We haven’t seen much of Lost Worlds yet, but yesterday’s teaser gave us all a little hope. The 2D/3D gameplay looks amazing and I can’t wait to see what they do with it. I am personally a little sad that they decided to go Nintendo exclusive, but I will still be picking this up day one.
