Disney has announced they have abandoned the trademark for Star Wars 1313.

Star Wars 1313 was a third-person action-adventure video game. It would be more mature and gritty as compared to previous Star Wars games, resulting in an ‘M’ rating (for ages 17+). The concept was fast-paced, gadget and weapon-based combat using tools exclusive to bounty hunters.

Originally revealed at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) in June 2012, the game planned to feature cover-based combat, platform gameplay and “playable cinematic gameplay.”

Stories from when Disney purchased LucasArts, had stated that the game wouldn’t be affected. This of course, didn’t last long as rumors surfaced that the game was on hold, then eventually cancelled.

Disney chose not to renew the trademark for Star Wars 1313; the result was that Disney abandoned the project, according to The United States Patent and Trademark office on December 23, 2013.

So for all us Star Wars fans, all of our pleas for this epic game go unheard (so-to-speak) thanks to our pals at Disney.
