Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is barely a month old, but a new EA job listing could point to a sequel in the works. The listing is for a senior software engineer, and the description says EA is looking for someone “passionate about Star Wars.”
The listing reads:
We’re looking for a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer who will embrace our philosophy and share his/her hard earned expertise to create an incredible Star Wars experience for our players. We’re picturing someone who is passionate about the Star Wars Universe and is invigorated by the idea of coding third person action/adventure games.
Considering that Star Wars: Battlefront 2 was just recently reinvigorated and that it’s not an “adventure” title, a new Battlefront game is highly unlikely. EA isn’t exactly swimming in third-person action-adventure Star Wars games either, something fans have been clamoring for for longer than the Jedi-Sith war.
Those facts, combined with that open-ended closing segment in Fallen Order, would strongly suggest the game in question is a Fallen Order sequel of some kind. There’s certainly plenty of narrative paths to take during this time period between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope, and aside from Rogue One and Rebels, not much canon material outside books and comics has explored it. Plus, more Fallen Order couldn’t be a bad thing.
Of course, it’s just a rumor right now. Stay tuned to GameSkinny for more Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order news.
