Star Wars Jedi: Survivor Delayed But in “Final Stage”

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, the sequel to Fallen Order, won't release in March after all.

Those hoping to play Star Wars Jedi: Survivor in March will have to wait a little bit longer to see the next chapter in the Cal Kestis saga. Developer Respawn has announced that the game will see a six-week delay, pushing the release date from March 17 to April 28. The game will still release on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series platforms.

Publisher EA announced that Star Wars Jedi: Survivor would be delayed during an earnings report examining the company’s lower-than-expected financial results for the third quarter of fiscal 2023. Respawn Game Director Stig Asmussen later followed with a Twitter statement, saying that the delay would help the team add polish to the game and improve the overall player experience.

For the last three years, the Jedi team here at Respawn has poured its collective heart and soul into Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, and we are proud to say the next cheapter in the tale of Cal Kestis is content complete. We are now focused entirely on the final stage: bug fixes to enhance performance, stability, and most importantly, player experience.

Jedi: Survivor is a direct response to the feedback from our community, delivering expansive destinations to explore, evolved combat and traversal, and of course, the continuation of Cal and BD’s story. Making this game has truly made us a better team, and we have pushed ourselves at every level to make this the Star Wars sequel our fans expect from Respawn and Lucasfilm Games.

In order for the team to hit the Respawn quality bar, provide the team the time they need, and achieve the level of polish our fans deserve, we have added six crucial weeks to our release schedule. Star Wars Jedi: Survivor will now launch globally on April 28.

Thanks to EA and Respawn for giving us the time to deliver the best experience for our players, and to all of you for your understanding.

May the Force be with you.

With the delay, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor will move out of a crowded March — a month effectively made busier by the glut of high-profile games releasing throughout February — and into April with far fewer games vying for players’ collective attention. Though it will now release on the same day as Dead Island 2, just days before Redfall, and a mere two weeks ahead of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
