Starcraft II: Heart of the Swarm launched this morning, allowing players to either upgrade their existing Starcraft or download the game client, depending on their purchase. Those who pre-ordered were allowed to preload the game/sizable patch and begin playing the moment the system opened up.
This weekend, the MLG Winter Championship for HotS will take place in Dallas, TX.
“28 players who win their Winter Season Showdowns taking place online will join the top four from the MLG 2012 Fall Championship – Life, Leenock, Flash, Bomber – to compete in a single elimination bracket for $75,000 and a first place prize of $25,000.”

- Friday, March 15 – Doors open at 2:00 PM with the official welcome at 5:00 PM and competition on the main stages from 5:30 PM – 12:30 AM
- Saturday, March 16 – 10:00 AM to 12:30 AM
- Sunday, March 17 – 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM
Casters include Day[9], DJ Wheat, Husky, Total Biscuit, Incontrol, Axslav, Axeltoss, and floor reporter – Anna Prosser Robinson.
