New features are being added post official release that are still in the works, such as Trade Offers and Card Binders. New games will also be added to the list of card drop games, as opposed to the normal Tuesday/Thursday release schedule.

Steam Trading Cards are collectible cards that Steam users can get from a small library of games (including Dota 2, Don’t Starve, and Half-Life 2) that allow access to freebies, from profile backgrounds to coupons.

Steam Developer John Cook also teased that there would be an upcoming event occurring at the same time as the Trading Card release, saying, “Making trading cards available to all Steam users is a step towards an event we think everyone can be excited about.” He could very well be teasing the Steam Summer Sale, the event where everyone throws money at Steam while they supply you with sweet, sweet games.
