Story of Seasons: Pioneers of Olive Town for Nintendo Switch puts a new twist on the tried-and-true formula.

A brand-new Story of Seasons game is headed to Nintendo Switch, XSeed announced during October’s Nintendo Direct Mini Partner Showcase. Story of Seasons: Pioneers of Olive Town releases March 23, 2021, and drops players into a wilderness just waiting to be shaped.

In Pioneers of Olive Town, players head out to the frontier hamlet of Olive Town. There’s a run-down needing attention, and a whole wilderness to explore.

Story of Seasons: Pioneers of Olive Town will live up to its name, with a wild frontier to tame and charming townspeople to get to know,” XSeed’s Executive Vice President, Kenji Hosoi said.

Gathering resources contributes towards farm construction projects and also to building up Olive Town itself. Players can customize almost every aspect of their farm and take on requests from villagers, along with finding Earth Sprites and traveling to mysterious lands far away from Olive Town.

The core gameplay remains recognizably Story of Seasons. When they aren’t finishing chores, players can join in Olive Town festivities, make friends, and perhaps even find a special someone to settle down with.
