You’ll be able to pre-load the beta starting on May 16, 2023, at midnight PDT.

How to Sign Up for the SF6 Open Beta

To participate in the open beta, you’ll need to meet several quick and easy requirements as outlined by Capcom. The biggest “hurdle” will be linking your accounts.

  • Meet the age requirements in your region to play the game.
  • Meet the requirements to run Street Fighter 6.
  • Have an account on your desired platform.
  • Register for a Capcom ID and link a platform.

Both SF5 and SF4 are rated T. SF6 received a rating of 15+ in South Korea late in 2022. Moreover, having an account on your “platform of choice” simply refers to having a Steam account, a PlayStation account, or a Microsoft account.

The open beta isn’t currently available on storefronts, but it should become available during the pre-load period on May 16. Once it becomes available, all you’ll need to do is download it.

Is PlayStation Plus or Xbox Live Required to Play the Beta?

Technically, no. You don’t need to subscribe to PlayStation Plus or Xbox Live to play the Street Fighter 6 beta. However, Capcom has confirmed that, unsurprisingly, you won’t be able to access the online features for SF6 if you aren’t subscribed to those services.

How to Create a Capcom ID and Link Accounts

Creating a Capcom ID is super easy, and if you’re a fan of the developer’s games, it’s likely you’ve already done this. If you haven’t, go over to the CID Capcom page here, and click Sing Up. Simply follow the prompts, and you’re good to go.

Linking your accounts to your Capcom ID is pretty easy, too. Capcom has a complete tutorial on how to link your accounts that leads you through the process step by step.

Will There Be Crossplay?

Yes, Capcom has confirmed that there will be crossplay functionality in the Street Fighter 6 open beta.

The Roster of Playable Characters

Capcom confirmed that there will be eight characters available during the open beta testing period. The roster is the same that was available during the closed beta period in December 2022. Here’s the list of fighters:

  • Chun-Li
  • Guile
  • Jamie
  • Juri
  • Ken
  • Kimberly
  • Luke
  • Ryu

Stages Included in the Open Beta

As with the list of characters, the SF6 open beta will feature the same stages from the closed beta, as well. There will be six to choose from, including:

  • Carrier Byron Taylor
  • Genbu Temple
  • Metro City Downtown
  • The Macho Ring
  • Tian Hong Yuan
  • Training Room

Other Content Available During Street Fighter 6 Beta 3

For those that were lucky enough to get into the game’s closed beta periods, the content that’s available this time around will be the same, as well. There won’t be any surprises here. Fans will have access to Avatar Creation and Character Creation. There will be daily challenges, Ranked Matches and Casual Matches, and open tournaments. The official blog post has a larger run-down of everything.

That’s what we know about the Street Fighter 6 open beta characters, dates, and times, including how to sign up and pre-load. SF6 will release just around the corner on June 2 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.
