Independent game developer Arachnid Games will debut their new release this Fall, with their open-world sea exploration game, Diluvion.

Described as a “Jules Verne inspired exploration game with RPG elements and thrilling submarine combat,” Diluvion takes the semi-familiar concept of a post-apocalyptic world, and gives it the twist of setting it in a submerged world trapped beneath ice.

You play as a submarine captain, gathering and managing your own crew, as you search this flooded world on a quest to find the secret history of this place.

The game boasts a mixture of both 2D and 3D graphics; the detailed 3D scenery surrounds you as you explore the watery depths, while the beautiful hand-painted 2D scenes are saved for the towns and cities you’ll explore on stops along the way.

Diluvion is the result of a Kickstarter campaign that took place last summer, the game raised over $50,000 towards its production, and is no doubt eagerly anticipated by its backers.

Diluvion will be available on Steam for both PC and Mac, when it is released later this year.

Stay-at-home geeky mama that's been gaming since early childhood! I wanted to be Lara Croft when I grew up, but writing about video games seemed a little more realistic ;) I love action/adventure and horror games especially, and have a fondness for scouting out indie developers to see what treasures they have to offer the gaming world.
