It was considered by many that one could get around the added controls of the New Nintendo 3DS by simply using the Circle Pad Pro. It seems like that may not be possible as Nintendo’s Japanese website that lists the games which support the Circle Pad Pro, the new Super Smash Bros. For Nintendo 3DS, will not be supported.

This is quite the issue for some Smash players as using the c-stick is almost vital to being able to perform at their best potential. It’s still up in the air if the Super Smash Bros. community will adopt the 3DS as a viable competitive platform, but this move of not providing similar controls to both 3DS consoles will slow things down a bit for the portable device.
