Target Offering Buy 2 Get 1 Game Free Now Through Saturday

The big American Target sale is confirmed and already going strong. Get your hands on some cheap games - and you won't even have to brave the crowds to do it!
This article is over 10 years old and may contain outdated information

Between hovering over leaked Black Friday deals at BFAds.com and watching the clock tick down until the official PlayStation 4 launch, gamers have a lot to be excited about right now. Luckier industry folks than I have already had their turn playing around with the newest gaming shiny to hit the consumer market, now it’s our turn!

(This is, of course, running under the assumption that it will work. It may not.)

But what comes next?

The obvious answer: games! And after shelling out the big bucks for the PS4, what better way to celebrate than with the best selection of games that launch day can throw at us – at a discount?

A couple weeks ago, we at GameSkinny reported a leaked Target flyer that offered a pretty great deal – buy two PS4 games and you’ll get a third free.

Pretty sweet deal, right?

The Target deal has since been confirmed and the sale is going full steam ahead – right now, in fact. Not for the PS4 titles, they start selling immediately after the launch of the console, but twelve titles are confirmed as being part of the deal including:

  •  Killzone: Shadow Fall
  • Knack
  • Call of Duty: Ghosts

And for those of you who aren’t really keen on shelling out for a new console and, let’s face it, some rather dubiously rated launch titles, there’s probably something in there for you too.

Through this Saturday, Target’s “buy two, get one free deal” is valid on over 500 games, and while that number doesn’t encompass every single game on the market right now, it certainly applies to some of this year’s biggest titles such as:

  • Pokemon X & Y
  • Grand Theft Auto V
  • Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag
  • Battlefield 4
  • Skylanders Swap Force

Plus, if you’re not interested in shelling out for more than one title this Black Friday, there are some additional offers on some of these. Target is offering a $20 Gift Card with the purchase of Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, while Battlefield 4, Batman: Arkham Origins, possibly Call of Duty: Ghosts (the flyer image is cut off), and more, are on Black Friday sale for $35 each or less.

Older games are being sold at $15 and $25 levels as seen above, including those not shown in the flyer. You can view these and additional game price drops on IGN, or check out the games themselves on the Target website.

Additionally, if you’re anything like me and have let the current generation of console gaming pass you by with wistful silence (especially in the wake of quality exclusive releases like The Last of Us and Beyond: Two Souls), Target is breaking out some of the lowest prices ever on current generation bundles – $189.99 for the 4 GB Xbox 360 Kinect Bundle and doorbuster deal $199 250GB PlayStation 3 bundle that comes with Batman: Arkham Origins and The Last of Us.

Here’s the best part!

While getting your hands on a deal is great, and one of the best feelings in the world, what you get is not necessarily worth the experience of the crushing, rushing, claustrophobic mass of humanity shoving into, past, and through you in order to get their hands on their own treasure trove of cheap goodies when you brave the Black Friday sales in store.

Well at least this year, it looks like you might not even have to. According to Target’s promotions page, it appears that the red-and-white giant is offering free shipping for these titles as well. You might not be able to nab some of the doorcrasher prizes, but it’s a hell of an easier way to get your hands on some cheap games.

Remember, this deal ends Saturday night, so get shopping you lucky American customers, you! Some of us a little north of the border aren’t quite so lucky.
