Bethesda recently released a new batch of details for The Elder Scrolls Legends new expansion, Alliance War, along with a content roadmap detailing what fans can expect for the rest of the year.
Alliance War was first announced during PAX East and is set to launch on PC, iOS, and Android April 15 with a wealth of new content, and you can see the announcement trailer above.
Bethesda says the expansion will bring the biggest changes since Legends first launched.
Among other new additions, Alliance War will bring more than 100 new cards and five new three-color house card combinations.
It will also introduce new gameplay mechanics, including Mobilize and Empower, and two brand-new factions in the fight for control over the Ruby Throne: the Empire of Cyrodil and the Guildsworn.
As an introduction both to the new factions and for new players, Bethesda offered a short overview of each faction’s background and strengths:
Empire of Cyrodiil – Willpower, Agility, Endurance
- Fallen from prominence, the Empire clings to its last shreds of power at the center of the conflict.
Daggerfall Covenant – Strength, Intelligence, Endurance
- A faction of Redguard, Breton, and Orsimer seeking to restore the Second Empire of Men under the rule of High King Emeric.
Aldmeri Dominion – Intelligence, Willpower, Agility
- Altmer, Bosmer, and Khajiit faction seeking to reestablish Elven dominance over Tamriel.
Ebonheart Pact – Strength, Agility, Endurance
- Contentious alliance between the Dunmer, Nords, and Argonians formed out of necessity to preserve their independence.
Guildsworn – Strength, Intelligence, Willpower
- A coalition formed between the Fighters Guild and Mages Guild to protect the people of Tamriel from the collateral damage of the war and the Daedric invasion.
The Elder Scrolls Legends — Alliance War is available for pre-order on Bethesda’s website now for $49.99. Those who do pre-order will receive 50 card packs and a Legendary card from the expansion, along the exclusive “Warmonger” title and premium card back.
However, Alliance War isn’t the only update Bethesda has planned for this year. The developer released a new content map outlining what fans can expect for each season.
Each update will include new cardpack expansions, summer promises new mechanics, and doubtlessly, we’ll see more of the same for fall and winter as those seasons approach.
