The End of an Era: Dark Souls 3’s Second DLC Announced

Bandai Namco have finally revealed the official name and release date for the final Dark Souls 3 DLC, along with a brand new trailer.

Since the mixed reception for Ashes of Ariandel, the first DLC for Dark Souls 3, gamers have looked forward in hope that the second piece of DLC will end the game — and the franchise — with a bang.

Details for the second and final DLC have now been confirmed, with The Ringed City set for release on March 28th at a cost of $14.99.

As something of a Dark Souls fanatic, I can’t wait, particularly after seeing some of enemy and boss hints in the new trailer:

The description for The Ringed City also has me itching to return to this dark and beautiful world for a final time:

At the close of the Age of Fire, as the world ends and all lands converge upon themselves, a lone adventurer descends into the madness of the earth and uncovers the secrets of the past. As players make their way to the fabled Ringed City they will encounter ancient beasts, a new cast of characters teetering on the edge of insanity, new armour, weapons, magic, and at the bottom of it all, a long lost city filled with new horrors for players to overcome.

As we expected however, this expansion will mark the end of an era — and the final installment in the revolutionary and iconic Dark Souls franchise. So hopefully fans will be happy with everything included in the Ringed City DLC.

On top of confirming the DLC, Bandai Namco confirmed that a new release version of the game will also be available, including both sets of DLC. Dark Souls 3: The Fire Fades Edition will be released on April 21, 2017.
