Tiny Cartridge has a very clear comparison of the first and last Nintendo Power covers.

The last cover is the perfect way to reflect Mario today, especially if you compare it with the magazine’s first cover. Even if you don’t have any memories associated with the magazine, it’s interesting to see how video games were seen before and how they’re seen now. Not from a graphical standpoint.

Things were very different then.

Don’t Forget the Past

We rely on the internet for our gaming news these days, but there was something special about waiting for our favorite magazines to get our news. What is an inconvenience now was something special when we were younger. It’s important not to forget that.

RIP Nintendo Power, and every other gaming magazine coming to the end of the line. You’re part of an older era, but that era had a magic that I doubt we’ll ever have again.
