The Last of Us Remastered Could be Out as Early as Next Week

Could The Last of Us Remastered be coming as soon as next week? Seems impossible, but there is evidence pointing towards it.

Sony has officially stated that The Last of Us Remastered will not be coming out June 13, but there are two key pieces of evidence that contradict their statement.

In an official letter to IGN they have said the following:

“As we’ve announced, The Last of Us Remastered for PS4 will release this summer. An official release date, though, has not yet been announced for the game. The release date is not June 13th. We will keep you posted on an official release date.”

The piece of evidence that started all of the speculation was a picture taken by IGN reader John Wood who sent in the photograph to IGN’s news team.

The speculation ramped up further when GAME Barnsley sent out the following a tweet announcing the game’s release date as June 13th as well.

GAME Barnsley later tried to retract their previous tweet and followed up with one that stated their previous tweet was a mistake.

It is interesting that there would be a potential leak on the release date especially since if the evidence were true that would mean that the Remastered edition is coming out on the one year anniversary of The Last of Us‘ original release date.

Could this be Sony’s giant announcement for E3 this year or is it a little too good to be true? Gamers need only wait seven more days until E3, where we’ll find out who’s telling the truth.
