After the leaked unofficial trailer for Activision’s The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct was seen, people started asking when they could expect the real deal.  Now we’ve got a date for the game’s release, with that date being March 26 of this year for the North American version of the game and March 29 for the European version.

Perhaps even more interesting was Activision giving a bit more detail about the game itself.  More specifically, giving some information about how the game plays.  Despite the game’s first-person perspective, it is not a first-person shooter.  Glenn Gamble, speaking on behalf of the company, said the game was a first-person survivor.

FPS = First-Person Survivor

He states very clearly that a player entering the game with a mindset typical of games like the Call of Duty franchise would die very quickly, that guns are analogous to dinner bells.  Put more specifically, “You want to be quiet. If you look at the show, three walkers is a threat.”

The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct has players taking on the roles of Daryl and Merle Dixon as they progress through their own journeys from the time directly before the show.  Keep your eyes open for official trailers soon!
