It was fully half a year ago the world realized The War Z was in trouble over its nomenclature. The similarity to World War Z was close enough the zombie survival game lost its trademark on its title, leaving us all wondering when they might actually change their name back to something within trademark bounds.
We finally have our answer in the form of an email sent out to the active players of the game, identifying the new title of the game as Infestation: Survivor Stories. Players are assured the new title will have absolutely no effect on their gameplay or their active accounts.
One positive side effect of the name change is to make it much easier for the game to hide from much of its troubled history, as many people looking for news about Infestation: Survivor Stories will end up missing much of the drama and bad press the game suffered from under its original release title.

Greetings Survivors!
Effective today, The War Z has changed its name to Infestation: Survivor Stories. This change has come about primarily as a result of some confusion and trademark issues with a similarly titled property. While we were reluctant to rename the game so long after launch, especially with nearly 1 million registered players, it was ultimately decided to be in the best interest of our existing community as well as future players in order to eliminate confusion. Please rest assured that this will in NO WAY affect you as players. The only difference you will see is the change in logo and website. There will be no interruption of service or change in content.
