A fully fleshed out version of Thomas Was Alone was released on Steam last year after a two year period of floating around as a flash game — and this Spring the indie title will be making its way to the PS3 and Vita via the PlayStation Network.

Lone developer Mike Bithell announced the PSN release, which will be a cross-buy for both platforms mentioned above, on the PlayStation Blog. Curve Studios, the development team behind Explodemon!, will be be handling the port.

Thomas Was Alone was one of my personal favorite indie titles of last year. Despite Thomas and his cohorts’ being simple rectangles (or squares), the narrative that drove them on their adventure was touching and very involving. Danny Wallace of Assassin’s Creed fame handling the narrative voice acting only served to drive it home.

The PC version of Thomas Was Alone is currently available on Steam for $9.99, but the creator’s commentary and timed exclusive DLC prologue featuring “a square who is given a jetpack” may make it worth it to wait on the PSN release.
