Despite the game not being released for another month, EA seems very confident about the long-term appeal of Respawn Entertainment’s upcoming shooter, Titanfall.
“As you can imagine, this will be a franchise that’s around for a long, long time,” EA CFO Blake Jorgensen said today at the Stifel Technology, Media, & Entertainment Conference. “I think people will be very excited.”
This isn’t the first time the CFO has talked about Titanfall’s longevity. At the UBS Global Technology Conference back in November, Jorgensen discussed the possibility of the game’s sequels being released on multiple platforms. If all goes according to plan, Titanfall is set to join the ranks of EA’s big-name shooter rotation alongside the Battlefield and Battlefront franchises.
Still recovering from Battlefield 4’s hugely problematic launch back in October, Jorgensen also answered questions regarding Titanfall’s initial launch, assuring that this time they’re prepared.
“We’re always trying to take lessons learned from previous issues and build them into the new game,” he said. “You never know exactly what will happen when you start to run through all the gyrations that our consumers always run through, but we’re always there to make sure that it’s getting updated and robust over time and make sure that the consumer experience is fantastic.”
Titanfall is set to launch for PC and Xbox One on March 11, and for Xbox 360 on March 25. The game will begin accepting sign ups for Beta tonight at 9 pm EST.
