TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge — Dimension Shellshock Adds New Characters, Colors, More

TMNT: Shredder's Revenge DLC brings new content to the game. Cowabunga!

In a surprise announcement, Dotemu has revealed that its acclaimed beat-em-up Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge will be getting DLC later this year. Titled Dimension Shellshock, the DLC will bring new characters, alternate colors for each character, and a new game mode. A brief trailer unveiled Usagi Yojimbo (who is technically a guest character) as the first of the new characters while teasing others.

From the looks of things, there won’t be a new story mode or anything, but Dimension Shellshock could potentially add a survival mode akin to Streets of Rage 4’s DLC. In that game, you took the main cast and leveled them up through a roguelike mode that saw random assortments of enemies on bespoke levels for the mode. We absolutely see a new arena for Usagi in this trailer, but there’s only a single screen and not much else.

As for the color variations, the turtles seem to have alternate designs based on their previous iterations. There is very clearly an NES-inspired color scheme, as well as one based on the 2003 animated series. Colors aren’t new costumes or anything, but they add a bit of flair to the game that can be fun for additional playthroughs. Shredder’s Revenge has plenty of replay value as is.

TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge — Dimension Shellshock will be hitting PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Switch later this year. We’ll learn more about what this DLC packs as we get closer to release. No price has been announced yet.
