Would you believe that Torchlight II was a big success? According to the Runic Games Twitter, the game has surpassed 1 million units in sales. Time for a big “Congratulations!” to the small developer.
The Tweet reads:

#Torchlight2 has sold over 1 million units! Thank you! Happy New Year’s Eve everyone 🙂
It only took the game three months to reach the one million mark. The original Torchlight did sell more than a million units, but it took more than a year to reach that point. With an established fanbase, it would be weird if the sequel didn’t sell like hotcakes.
Torchlight II was one of my favorite games of 2012 and I’m glad it got the attention it deserves. Runic really took all of the criticism of the first game and made TL2 just what fans wanted. It’s more than worth its $20 price tag, and is well worth your attention if you haven’t picked it up yet.
