Torment Kickstarter Begun Today… And Funded Already

The Torment: Tides of Numenera Kickstarter got going this morning, and met its $900,000 goal within the first six hours.

We all enjoy hearing about Kickstarter success stories.  We gamers also love hearing about the games we enjoyed as children achieving huge success in being revitalized, either as (good) remakes like X-Com or with brand new sequels.  It is this second type of classic reboot that we’ve got before us today with Torment: Tides of Numenera.

And it’s gonna be big.

The game is being pitched by inXile Entertainment, already successful on Kickstarter with their Wasteland 2 entry, and was put forth on the crowd-funding site this morning.  It was talked about on GameSkinny a while ago and I put in my own pledge shortly after it began, already showing a strong pledge amount of over $100,000.  Six hours after the project went up for pledging, I received an email, the first project update.

Saying that the game was fully-funded.  Torment: Tides of Numenera received the full $900,000 it was asking for in pledges in the first six hours that it was possible to pledge at all.  If I wasn’t excited about this game before, I certainly am now.  With 29 days and about 17 hours to go, it seems certain that this game is well on its way to challenging the previous record-holders for Kickstarter, and it’s going to be thrilling seeing exactly how high it goes.

$990,183 pledged to Torment: Tides of Numenera as of writing.  Stop reading and hit the source below to get in on this!
