Twitch Plays Dark Souls defeats Bell Gargoyles!

Twitch has miraculously beaten one of the first of many punishing bosses in Dark Souls.

No one believed they could do it (and for a while, they could not), but twitch has somehow collaborated to beat the Bell Gargoyles in Dark Souls today.

While the first Twitch Plays  method of playing the game resulted in the player running into a wall and randomly equipping and unequipping weapons, the new playing method pauses in between actions. This allows Twitch viewers to relatively control the player.

The stream now pauses between each action that is determined by a poll that players vote in. While this gives viewers more time to think, it is still remarkable that they were able to triumph as dozens of trolls intentionally voted for actions that would result in the chosen undead’s demise. Despite all of them, however, Twitch managed to beat the gargoyles and progress into Darkroot Garden.

They still have a long way to go. Dark Souls is a game that not only has punishing bosses, but also punishing environments as well. We will have to see how Twitch will manage to even walk through Blighttown.. if they even get that far.
