Just when we thought it was safe to plan the journey into our back catalogue of games, both Sega and Warner Bros. decide it is time to announce the release dates for Alien: Isolation and Shadow of Mordor.

October 7th 2014 is the date when you need to clear several weeks off of your gaming calendar. Sega revealed the information during EGX Rezzed, which was held at the NEC arena in Birmingham, England. Warner Bros. were a little more low-key, press released to the masses earlier today.

Look out for my feedback on that knee trembling, leg aching, face crunching experience!

Different methods, same madness. Both Alien: Isolation and Shadow of Mordor are causing waves of excitement, intrigue and caution with the gaming world at large. Both titles are set within loved universes, both titles are from beloved companies, and both franchises have a lot riding on the success of their respective title.

Remember me?

Sega will be quick to move past the best Alien game formerly known as Aliens: Colonial Marines. It didn’t matter if you were in space or not, you could be heard screaming at the farce that was released.

Then along came Alien: Isolation. We know very little about, which may be the best move that Sega make. I, however, did get chance to play it at Rezzed. Look out for my feedback on that knee trembling, leg aching, face crunching experience!

 I’m Batman.

Then you have Warner Bros. who are hoping that they can strike it rich again by bringing another franchise into the action genre. The Batman Arkham franchise is fantastic example of how you take the fruits of two other mediums and make them your own.

Can it happen again? Darn right it can. Will it happen with Lord of the Rings? One can dream.

Are you looking forward to both Alien: Isolation and Shadow of Mordor, or are you waiting until the masses have been into both space and middle-earth before you decide to pick it up? Let me know in the comments below!
