Many familiar faces are making their way back to the new title in the hit fighting series, including: Mario, Link, Samus Aran, Kirby, Fox McCloud, Pit, Donkey Kong, Bowser, Peach, and Pikachu!

Two new challengers have also been revealed to debut in the hit series: “Villager“(Animal Crossing) and the iconic Mega Man!

The trailer started off by showing 3DS gameplay with what appears to be cell-shaded-esque characters duking it out on newly revealed stages, including a Nintendogs level and the train from The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks

About one-minute into the trailer (and my favorite part), the 3DS Mario jumped into the air and shattered his cell-shaded skin…transforming into the HD version every fan has been waiting for! Even more new stages were revealed, including: Skyloft from Skyward Swordan Animal Crossing location, a boxing ring, and the original Battlefield location.

Mega Man was revealed in his classic “blue bomber” version with his dog, Rush, Mega Buster move, and many other Robot Master abilities!

[UPDATE] A new character has just been announced…

That’s right…specifically the female trainer will be making her debut! (I wonder what kind of moves she’ll have…yoga?)
