Valorant Patch 6.04 is live with plenty of new content to explore. The patch brings with it bug fixes, performance updates, a new battlepass, the new ranked act Episode 6 Act II “Revelation”, and most notably, a new agent! The new agent is Gekko, and he is inspired by Los Angeles, California, with lime green hair and skateboarding street style.
Gekko is an initiator with interesting pet-based abilities. He has three plasma pets that are equipped with a fresh take on initiator abilities.
Dizzy (E): is his signature ability and acts as an information-gathering tool, and blind. Dizzy flies through the air and explodes in a plasma blast that blinds enemies. Once the timeframe expires, she can be reclaimed to gain another Dizzy after the designated cooldown period.
Wingman (Q): gathers information, concusses, and is even capable of planting and defusing the spike. Wingman can plant or defuse the spike by alt-firing toward the target. To plant the spike, Gekko must be equipped with it. You can reclaim Wingman after he returns to his original state, and wait for the cooldown period to use him again.
Mosh Pit (C): Mosh Pit is thrown like a grenade, or alt-fire to throw underhand. Mosh will create an area of damage and blast radius.
Thrash (X): is his ultimate ability, you can guide Thrash through enemy territory once activated. Thrash will leap forward and explode on impact, detaining nearby enemies. Much like Gekko’s other abilities, Thrash can be reclaimed but only one time.
In addition to a flashy new Agent, Riot has graced us with the Oni skin set once more, and it is a featured collection available for the Vandal, Bulldog, Ares, Frenzy, and new Onimaru Kunitsuna Melee. The collection is available for 7,100 Valorant Points, or around $70.

Performance Updates:
- Updated thread synchronization to reduce input latency.
- Input latency has been improved by ~1 frame for players who meet all of the following criteria:
- They do not have NVIDIA Reflex/AMD Anti-Lag available/enabled.
- They have multithreaded rendering enabled.
- They use VSYNC.
Bugs Addressed:
- Fixed bug where if Sage’s Barrier Orb was damaged while fortifying, it would fortify to full health instead of going to max health minus the damage that was dealt during fortification.
- Fixed a bug where abilities, like Sova Drone that are pushed by the Lotus doors into other players, could continue to push players even after the door stops or the players exited the doors area.
- Fixed hitch where game mode related UI is loaded in a blocking manner on game startup.
Since Episode 6 Act II “Revelation” brings in a new season, all ranks will be reset in Competitive mode; Good thing we can’t wait to dive into this brand new season and try out Gekko’s cute pet abilities.
