Wasteland 3 DLC The Battle of Steeltown Gets Release Date

The first Wasteland 3 DLC is coming soon, and it's adding more than just some new quests to the game.

The Battle of Steeltown, the first Wasteland 3 DLC, will release June 3 for PC and consoles. Steeltown sees the squad travel to southwest Colorado to investigate a violent strike at a steel factory, but deciding who’s in the wrong won’t be as straightforward as it seems.

There are a variety of quests to take on in Steeltown, along with new enemy types and a pile of new combat mechanics for players to play with. Stacking status effects, elemental shields, telegraphed attacks, and non-lethal weapons will be packed into the DLC to add further complexity to Wasteland 3‘s combat.

Steeltown‘s quests will scale depending on main game progress. inXile also said these new mechanics and items are being retroactively added to the base game.

The game’s director, David Rogers, said:

Full of choice, consequence, and Wasteland 3’s unique brand of humor, it’s… a culmination of all the hard work we’ve put into the game since launch.

For those playing Wasteland 3 for the first time, they’ll be playing the best version of the game. For players coming back to visit Steeltown, they’re in for a treat with new story, characters, and combat mechanics that really change up tactics in challenging new ways.

There’s no word yet on how much The Battle of Steeltown will cost.

We called Wasteland 3 an “instant classic” in our review, a top-notch RPG evoking the best of retro tactical games such as Fallout wrapped in a modern package.
