Will You Play Super Smash Bros. For Fun or For Glory?

Nintendo announces casual and hardcore online play modes for Wii U and 3DS' approaching title Super Smash Bros.

Covering All The Bases

The moment is here. You rip open your copy of Super Smash Bros. eager to begin your new brawling adventures. Upon challenging the contenders lurking in the internet, you’ll be faced with a choice: “For Fun” or “For Glory?”

So, You’re The Casual Type?

Players who would rather kick back and take it easy will choose “For Fun.” This game mode is a surprise every time, including random stages and items for entertaining scenarios to blow off steam. Only wins will be recorded when you’re playing for fun.

So, You’re The Hardcore Type?

This mode is where the ruthless, competitive adversaries will gather to display years of polished skills. Opponents will face off tournament-style with disabled items on the “Final Destination” stage. Both wins and losses will be recorded when you’re playing for glory.

While there is no integrated “ranking system,” player’s wins and skill level will be taken into account when searching for matches.

Nintendo fully intends on supplying players with a safe and fair environment for the new Super Smash Bros. The new, online game modes will be heavily observed for cheating, glitching, and harassing. Any player found not adhering to multiplayer standards will be banned accordingly.

Super Smash Bros. will be available for the 3DS summer 2014, while Wii U enthusiasts will be biding time until winter.
