WoW 5.2: Big Changes Coming to Low Level PvP

Say goodbye to being stomped as a level 11 in WSG!

Now, I never got hardcore into twinking when it was a big game, but back in the day, I remember getting messed up by people in the bracket that 19s competed in. Some people put a lot of effort into making their lowbie the deadliest one in the battle ground. Blizzard is possibly eliminating this bracket; at the very least, they are changing it in patch 5.2 of World of Warcraft.

Here is the quotation that has quite a few sites in a buzz over the implications of these changes:

Players in low-level Battlegrounds will have their effective level raised to the maximum level allowed in that Battleground bracket. Players’ base stats and spells are scaled accordingly, and are treated as the same level when determining hits, misses, and critical effect chance. Source

I personally wouldn’t mind seeing changes like this get implemented in WoW, so long as they didn’t completely kill off twinking for those who still enjoyed to do it. This would make leveling up via PvP much more easy to do. It would also make even playing PvP at levels that didn’t end in 9 besides level cap entertaining.

All that being said, though, I’m sure there will still be a difference in what classes have better skills at what bracket, as well as who actually got decent gear and who’s only in quest gear for their level. I’m interested in seeing what happens with this in WoW patch 5.2
