WoW 5.3: Pet Battle Spectating Now Possible

Insert a Pokemon joke about World of Warcrat pet battles.

World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria’s pet battle system became much more popular than most people thought it would. Then again, it’s hard to resist collecting cute critters and forcing them to fight each other for your amusement.

Is it too late for a Michael Vick joke? Yes, it is.

Prior to WoW 5.3, when another person was battling a pet in the wild, you weren’t able to see it take place. Now, you are able to watch the trainer more or less stand still while his/her pet goes at it.

The fine folks over at MMO Champion have filmed some of it, which can be seen in the YouTube link above. The player just standing there does look a bit awkward, but at least you can see the battle animations of the pets.

In addition to being able to spectate in World of Warcraft 5.3, a new update for the add-on WoWkemon will allow you to spectate players’ battles in the full Pokemon style.
