XCOM: Enemy Within Will Include Base Defense

XCOM: Enemy Within will include at least one base defense mission.

XCOM: Enemy Within is the new expansion to XCOM: Enemy Unknown, 2012’s strategy shooter developed by legendary studio Firaxis Games. The game is set to release November 12th and will add a lot of new things to the game such as new maps, weapons, various upgrades, and new aliens to shoot in the face. And while all of that is fine and dandy, there was something still missing that a lot of us wanted: Base defense.

Well I can happily report that, yes, base defense is being included in XCOM: Enemy Within. According to a new video posted by GameSpot, it is confirmed that there is at least one mission that will require you to defend the base that you have spent all that money to build. I’m glad that they have included at least some aspect of base defense in the new expansion. The original XCOM made in 1994 had these types of missions and I for one am a little surprised it has taken the dev team this long to include them.

Are you looking forward to XCOM: Enemy Within?
