Yakuza 7, also known as Yakuza: Like a Dragon, will be heading to Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S on November 10, the same day as the next-gen Xbox consoles launch. It’s also the same day the game hits the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

Unfortunately for PS5 owners, Yakuza 7 won’t launch on the PS5 until March 2, 2021.

Previously, Yakuza 7 was set to release for the Xbox Series X sometime in November 2020 without a solid date, noting that it would be a launch game for the new console.

Yakuza 7 originally launched for PlayStation 4 in Japan on January 16, where it’s known as Ryū ga Gotoku 7: Hikari to Yami no Yukue (Like a Dragon 7: Whereabouts of Light and Darkness). It stars new main character Ichiban Kasuga rather than the previous series protagonist Kazuma Kiryu.

Another notable feature of Yakuza 7 is its departure from the more familiar beat’em up style gameplay of the series, instead going for a turn-based RPG battle system complete with a four-person party, assists, summons, and even different jobs characters can obtain.

This is partially due to Ichiban Kasuga being a huge fan of the Dragon Quest series, with these battles showing one of the ways he views the world.

A PlayStation 5 version has also been confirmed, but it is currently unknown when it will release. Stay tuned to GameSkinny for more on Yakuza 7 as we learn it.
