Zynga loses Vice President Rob Dyer

Head of Zynga Partners program leaves the social gaming company, the second in two days.
It has been announced that Zynga, a social gaming firm, has lost yet another member, the second in two days, both high profile members of the team. This time around, it’s the VP of Partner Publishing, Rob Dyer.

Dyer has been with the company since November 2011 and he has had important responsibilities, including launching new titles, creating partnerships with the external development teams, and marketing all new releases.

Previously, Dyer worked at Sony Computer Entertainment America where he was in charge of managing external relations with developers and publishers; however he left just before the launch of the PlayStation Vita.

Dyer quitting is painful for Zynga, and is not the first in recent days in that many people have been leaving the computer gaming company. As well, studios all over the world have been closing at an alarming rate, and online games have been shut-down for good.  In fact, just  yesterday, Zynga China lost general manager, Andy Tian.

The Zynga Partners Program is what Dyers has been most noted for as of recently. It is an initiative to create better social interaction between games and to help third-party developers during launch, as well as scaling and growth of all the new games. The loss of Dyer to the Zynga company will certainly not help this project get off the ground in the coming months.

Does the future look dim for Zynga? What about for online gaming? Let us know your opinions!
