Barely a month after its release on Netflix, the mania for The Witcher is still in full swing, with news rapidly arriving of yet more content to come. After Netflix apparently confirmed that multiple seasons are in the works in an earnings video, we now know an animated film is set to arrive later this year.
The news broke when a Writers Guild Of America listing popped up showing a new Witcher movie penned by Beau DeMayo.
Titled The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf, this new flick will keep the same showrunner as the live-action series, according to a report from io9. Studio Mir (Voltron: Legendary Defender, The Legend of Korra) is set to handle the animation.
This standalone entry will explore a powerful new threat to the Continent apparently not seen in the first season. Voice actors for the project haven’t been announced yet, so it isn’t clear if Anya Chalotra will continue to voice Yennefer or if any other cast from the base show, such as Henry Cavill, will appear.
