Today, the Niantic team behind Pokémon GO announced a special event for the Thanksgiving holiday. From November 23 until November 30, players will be able to receive double experience points and stardust in the game.

Experience points allow players to level up and thus be able to acquire stronger Pokémon. Stardust is an item that allows players to strengthen their pocket monsters. This is similar to the rare candy items from the series. The event is in celebration of the game’s success and it’s also meant to encourage more activity for fans.

Pokémon GO was originally released for Android and iOS in July. Since its initial release, it has grossed 200 million in sales. Nintendo stock prices also rose as the game became available in more territories. At its peak of popularity it had as many as many active users as
