Peter Dinklage will be removed from Destiny

Peter Dinklage's voice will be removed from Destiny at the launch of the new expansion The Taken King.

Destiny is one of the most expensive video games ever made.

With top of the line visuals, deep leveling and tons of replay value, developer Bungie spent a very large sum of money on it. Probably huge sum on its own was getting the popular actor Peter Dinklage to voice the role of Ghost. However, his voice will only be around for a little while longer as Bungie is recasting the role.

This September Destiny is releasing The Taken King. Among the expansions includes a revamped leveling system, new gear and a new voice actor for Ghost, which will be Nolan North. North has a massive list of credits to his name, as he provides his voice for a huge amount video games. Seriously, just look at his IMDB page.

This could be Bungie listening to their fans; even though Dinklage is a great on-screen actor, his voice-over performance for Destiny was very flat. Since Nolan North has a lot of experience behind a microphone, Ghost has the potential of being more of a lively character.

Destiny: The Taken King launches on September 15 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.

I liked Dinklebot. I felt he hit just the right note between living soul and AI. I never understood the complaint about how unemotional he felt - he wasn't human, after all.

That said, I would bet that the recasting of the Ghost is more because Destiny couldn't get Dinklage to come in and record new lines - notice that there has been no new Dinklage in forever - not even for the last xpac. He's probably too busy with GoT and Bungie got tired of waiting for him to have time for them. And good on them. HoW felt very lonely without my ghost making irreverent comments.

I'm willing to bet this is the case. I'm guessing recording progress went on during the same time that Dinklage was filming season 5 of GoT. If they change the atmosphere that the Ghost brings I'll be disappointed.

At first I was thinking his contract was timed, or something like a timed exclusive but your reasoning seems like it would be the truth.
