Suda51 Says No More Heroes 3 is Delayed Until 2021

Suda51 says No More Heroes 3 is delayed after unforeseen issues from the coronavirus affected the development team's schedule.

No More Heroes 3 is delayed until sometime in 2021, Goichi Suda, the game’s director, said. COVID-19 impacted Travis Touchdown’s next adventure in unexpected ways, Suda said in an announcement on Twitter, and the team is working on getting back on track.

The statement reads:

The effects of the COVID-19 pandemic have unfortunately proven to be a real body blow to our schedule [and]… we have decided to focus on prioritizing quality.

Suda, aka Suda51, mentioned Grasshopper Manufacture, the No More Heroes developer, is working with illustrator Darik Robertson to produce No More Heroes 3‘s illustrations. Robertson is known for his work on The Boys series and Transmetropolitan, among other things.

No More Heroes 3 was announced during Nintendo’s E3 2019 presentation. Apart from a few scanty tidbits, the developers have remained reticent about what players can expect to see from Travis’ return to Santa Destroy.

Though Suda teased No More Heroes 1 and No More Heroes 2 ports for PS4 in the past, and the Taiwanese Rating Board rated them for the Switch, there’s still no word on whether these might happen at some point. Thus far, No More Heroes 3 is only planned for Nintendo Switch. Stay tuned to GameSkinny for more No More Heroes 3 news as it develops.
