Polytron has announced at the Horizon indie games press conference that they are currently working on Fez 2.
Fez, its predecessor, is a stylized 2D platformer with a 3D mechanic. The game won “Excellence in Visual Art” at the 2008 IGF, years before it was released, and won the Grand Prize in 2012. Released in 2012, Fez has garnered attention for its creator Phil Fish, a polarizing figure interviewed as a part of Indie Game the Movie and infamous for declaring that modern Japanese games “just suck.”

The teaser announcement for Fez 2 is very slight, and hopefully fans will not have to wait as long as they did for the first Fez (which was in development for five years). There is no information on release dates or on what platforms the game will make an appearance on, though the first Fez was initially available only on Xbox Live Arcade. The only thing that is for sure known about Fez 2 is that it will be scored by the same person as the original—Disasterpeace.
Fez has sold over 200,000 copies on Xbox Live Arcade and has received incredibly high ratings from Metacritic and Eurogramer, as well as other sites.
