Burn the Past in New Indie Puzzler Bonfire Peaks

Bonfire Peaks is about reaching the top of the mountain only because you can let go of everything that holds you back.

They say hanging onto belongings holds you back, and Bonfire Peaks from indie dev Corey Martin has a solution to that: burn everything you own.

Bonfire Peaks, set for release later in 2021 on Steam and the Epic Games Store, has you climb the highest peak on a mysterious island and set fire to your possessions along the way.

It’s the only way to solve the more than 100 sukoban-style puzzles keeping you from your goals. Of course, you’ll use other blocks and items to reach the peak, but every puzzle revolves around giving up at least one set of belongings with ties to the past.

Bonfire Peaks is billed as a serene and beautiful voxel game, despite its “fiendish” difficulty. If the trailer is anything to go by, it seems as if we’re in for a unique puzzler.

Bonfire Peaks publisher Draknek & Friends also announced their previous games — A Monster’s Expedition, A Good Snowman is Hard to Build, Cosmic Express, and Sokobond — are available now on the Epic Games Store for the first time.
