Fall Guys Season 2 Announced, Brings Medieval Hijinks to New Stages

Fall Guys Season 2 is coming soon, bringing an army of medieval costumes and stages with it.

Fall Guys has been dominating the gaming conversation since it launched for PC and PS4 on August 4. The game’s adorable aesthetic mixed with a unique take on traditional battle royale gameplay has been a recipe for success.

Now, less than a month after launch, Mediatonic and Devolver Digital have revealed a sneak peek at Fall Guys Season 2. The short preview of this new season’s medieval mayhem came during Gamescom’s Opening Night Live.

As of this writing, there’s no official release date for Season 2, but Kotaku pointed out that the in-game calendar now says there are 39 days left in Season 1. That would put the beginning of Season 2 somewhere around October 5 or October 6.

The medieval theme infuses every aspect of Fall Guys Season 2, from costumes to stage design. Players can dress up their Fall Guy in a banquet’s worth of different costumes, ranging from dragons and wizards to Vikings, knights, and more.

As may be music to the ears of some players, Season 2 is bringing new stages with it. One tasks players with making it across a long stretch of deadly obstacles like swinging axes and spike rollers. Another is all about using siege engines to traverse battlefields and towering barriers.

While the Fall Guys Season 2 trailer embedded above shows these rounds in action, Mediatonic’s lead designer said the team is still putting “the finishing touches” on it and didn’t provide an anticipated release time frame.

Fall Guys is free on PlayStation Plus until August 31. It is currently available on Steam for $19.99. If you’ve yet to play the battle royale, take a look out our review to see why we said it’s the game “we need” in 2020. Stay tuned to GameSkinny for more Fall Guys news as it develops.
