Star Trek: The Game Quick Review

A quick review of the new multi-platform title Star Trek: The Game.

The Story

Recommended Videos

Star Trek the game starts off a little confusing but the story is intense and engaging enough to keep you interested. The puzzles are a little hasty and simple but overall the Mass Effect Like gameplay is very interesting. The story is very linear with a lot of shooting and a little exploring thrown in on the side, but the levels are rich and fun to explore. If you are a Star Trek fan like myself this game is worth your time, and if you are not a fan the story is a great filler between the two movies.

Multiplayer

The two-player drop-in idea is well implemented and the ability to choose which character you want to play is great.  The Kirk and Spock combo make a great duo for the game’s story, and the co-op puzzles are fun to do with a friend. The addition of unique abilities and weapons for each character also give a fun amount of customization to Kirk and Spock.

Overall

The Story is great, the gameplay is fun, and the variety of weapons and collectibles will keep all those OCD gamers like myself entertained for hours. Overall the game is a great addition to the Star Trek series and worth the time of any gamer. I spent several hours playing as Spock and Kirk and I enjoyed every bit of it.
