Tomb Raider Replay Value: PLEASE, SQUARE, I WANT SOME MORE…

Tomb Raider falls short in single player.

Tomb Raider is a first class, full on AAA product, with undeniable technical polish and superb art design that totally surpassed my expectations. But in terms of value for money, I feel that it falls short.

My issues with the game are all about the lack of replay value. I’ve been playing for around 20 hours and I’m already 100% complete in campaign mode. All that’s left for me to do now is unlock a couple of the more time consuming single player trophies and replay the game on hard(and btw there’s no trophy for doing that. WTF?) But once that’s done, and since I suck way too much at multiplayer to dive into the online action, there’ll be no reason to play the game again.

If there were only some single player unlocks beyond art galleries, such as a new game plus mode, extra costumes or some fun gameplay tweaks then there’d be no problem. I wouldn’t even been writing this post, cus I’d be too busy using my fully pimped out shotgun on those crazy Sun worshippers. Trying out all those new weapon mods would be hours of fun.

But all I can do in the game now is fast travel to areas that are devoid of enemies, where the only danger is being pecked by chickens. Maybe adding new game plus would be hard to implement at this stage, but if there’s a way to patch this feature in, then Crystal Dynamics really should. This would solve all of my problems with this game and give me hours of extra bang for my buck. Heck, they can charge me a couple of dollars for this add on and I’ll bite. I just wanna spend a little more quality time with Lara
