Nintendo's new Developer Program makes you a Nintendo Developer

Nintendo opens its doors to a new Developer Portal, giving a wealth of programming resources to the masses.

Nintendo just opened submissions on a new website for enrollment into their Developer Program, and it couldn't be easier to sign up.

Joining the program gives members access to a whole suite of tools and resources that allow you to design your very own game using Nintendo's NDI Client. Publish your creation and play it on consoles like the Wii U and 3DS using tools like Unity, HTML5 and Nintendo Web Framework.

Perhaps you want to create your own amiibo characters and publish to the eShop? With features like Mii characters and a healthy amount of free middleware, making your own game has never been easier.

"Are you ready to tell your story? Are you ready to see your vision come to life on Nintendo's awesome hardware? Are you ready to create amazing things and want to get all the tools to do it? Let us help you make the next great thing." - Dev Portal Homepage

Design an open world environment with DLCs, demos, and apps, then publish it straight to the eShop. Or create a physical copy of your game to hand out to friends!

The website has plans to expand further with ROM submissions and project-based message boards to help you through every step of the way. Though, with the simplicity of the site and its tools, it shouldn't be long before everyone's crafting their own masterpiece.

I'm already planning my action-adventure turtle RPG, but what are you thinking of creating? Leave a comment below!
