Gears of War creator’s new game is called LawBreakers

LawBreakers is the newest project from Gears of War creator Cliff Bleszinski and his new team called Boss Key.

In an article I had written earlier this week I followed the reveal of Boss Key’s new website on Sunday which was then called “The Shattering”. The goal of this site was to reveal information about Gears of War creator, Cliff Bleszinki and his new production studio, Boss Key’s upcoming project.

The site was fitted with a timer counting down until the big trailer reveal yesterday at noon when we were finally treated to some more information about the project.

The new project will be entitled LawBreakers and will be released for the PC sometime in 2016 as a free-to-play FPS game. It follows the story of a post-cataclysmic, near-future earth that was nearly destroyed from an even called “The Shattering”. This event basically split the moon in two causing massive earthquakes and floods on Earth and screwing up the gravity.

Rather than being set during the events immediately after “The Shattering”, LawBreakers takes place in a time after humanity was able to rebuild and move forward.

Gravity will play a huge factor in this game it seems like as it was stressed that vertical gameplay will be just as critical as horizontal gameplay. Gangs will also play a key part in this game as it seems they are the main enemy.

All of the worlds gangs pool together to create a group called the “Breakers” while all of the law enforcement agencies team up to create a group called the “Law” so it will literally be Law vs. Breakers hence the game’s title.

No gameplay has yet been shown, but the reveal promises a gameplay trailer to be revealed this Friday 8/28 at 6 AM Pacific time.
