Baldur’s Gate 3: How to Get Helldusk Armor

Here's how to get the Legendary Helldusk Armor in Baldur's Gate 3!

There are countless pieces of gear to find and collect in Larian’s CRPG. Some are more useful than others, but most are incomplete, scattered around the world for you to find piecemeal. The Helldusk set is one of the relatively few full armor sets in the game, and it gives you the Fly Spell and Fire Resistance. However, it’s in one of the harder areas of Act 3. Here’s how to get the Helldusk Armor in Baldur’s Gate 3.

Enter the House of Hope

Finding the Helldusk Armor means heading into the House of Hope. The portal is hidden in a building called the Devil’s Fee. Activating it requires you to solve Helsik’s Ritual Puzzle on the second floor after you give the head on the wall a drink to keep it from spitting fire at your party.

Get the Orphic Hammer

After putting together the portal, hop in. Hope gives you a disguise so the NPCs won’t attack you. Your next task is to get the Orphic Hammer, which requires completing a few objectives first. Talk to the Archivist in the Archives and express interest in the hammer to get an invitation to the Boudoir. At the Boudoir, hit the button by the painting to the left of the bed to reveal a safe with the magical password for the hammer.

Go back to the Archives with the Orphic Hammer and other items if you want. This removes your disguise, so NPCs become hostile toward you. Don’t worry, though. Most of them are squishy. However, you can’t use Fire Damage since they’re immune. You don’t have to rescue Hope, but doing so at this point makes the next task easier. If you choose to, head to the Prison Hatch on the other side of the house.

Fight Raphael

Now, it’s time to exit the House of Hope, which causes Raphael to appear. Beat Raphael and loot the Helldusk Armor from his corpse. If you rescue Hope, she gives you a Legendary Item as a reward. So, it’s worth the stop to grab her for multiple reasons.

And that’s how to get the Helldusk Armor in Baldur’s Gate 3. You might go through the game without fighting Raphael if you take his deal or decide not to free Orpheus. But fighting him rewards you with a few nice items. From here, check our BG3 guide hub for topics like whether you should take Raphael’s deal and how to find the Doppelganger at camp.
