Baldur’s Gate 3: How to Get the Staff of Spellpower

A lesser version of Markoheshkir, this Very Rare staff is hidden behind Skill Checks. Depending on how you approach your problems in Act 3, you’ll probably come across both weapons. If your party has multiple casters, this lets at least two benefits from Arcane Battery. So, here’s how to get the Staff of Spellpower in Baldur’s Gate 3.

The Staff of Spellpower gives its wielder a +1 to Spell Save DC and Spell Attack Rolls in addition to Arcane Battery.

Enter the House of Hope

Like many nice items, this one hides in the House of Hope. That means you go to the Devil’s Fee first and solve Helsik’s Ritual Puzzle on the second floor. Instead of buying the reagents for thousands of gold, you find them in locked chests and scattered around the second floor. Put them in place and enter the portal.

When you arrive, Hope appears and gives your party a disguise to blend in with the debtors. This means that you can move through the house without the NPCs being hostile. When you take items from the Archives, this disguise disappears, meaning you want to explore first and steal from the Archives last.

Unlock the Hidden Treasure Room

The Staff of Spellpower sits across the hall from the Boudoir (which is circled on the map below), meaning you can grab it without fighting. First, you need to pass a passive check to notice the Inert Infernal Gem on the wall. Then, interact with it and pass an Arcana Check. Once you do this, it reveals a room with a mountain of treasure full of gold and the Helldusk Helmet, a blank contract for Mol, and the staff sitting on a pedestal.
