Reset to Default Settings

The simplest way to fix any mouse issues in Battlefield 2042 is to reset all mouse settings to their default settings. Here’s how you can do it:

  1. Launch Battlefield 2042 and go the main menu.
  2. Go to “Mouse and Keyboard” tab in the “Options” menu.
  3. Go to “On Foot” tab.
  4. Select “Restore Default” option.
  5. Go to “Key Bindings” menu.
  6. Select “Restore Default” option once again.

Reset Default Settings Files

If the simple configuration reset listed above didn’t help your mouse come back to life in Battlefield 2042, then you’ll need to delete and restore the folder with all game settings. Please follow these steps:

  1. Exit and close Battlefield 2042.
  2. Open the “Documents” folder on your PC.
  3. Find and rename the “Battlefield 2042” folder to any other name.
  4. Start Battlefield 2042 again.

By renaming the folder, you both save the old settings in case and, at the same time, let the game know that you’ve deleted them. Once you launch the game, it’ll automatically create a new folder in the Documents, thus resetting all the game files to their default. This should definitely fix any issues with the mouse and keyboard.

Edit a System File

If you don’t want to replace or delete an entire folder with settings, then you can alternatively simply delete a single system file in the following directory:

  • “\Documents\Battlefield 2042\settings\PROFSAVE_profile”

Once you restart the game, the file will be restored automatically with the default settings. If you don’t want to delete the file either, then I’d suggest editing it:

  1. Go to “\Documents\Battlefield 2042\settings\” folder on your PC.
  2. Right-click on the “PROFSAVE_profile” file.
  3. Select “Open with Notepad” option.
  4. Search the text for “infantry.conceptyaw” lines.
  5. Select and delete all lines that start with “GstKeyBinding.infantry.ConceptYaw”
  6. Save and exit.

That’s everything you need to know on how to fix mouse not working in Battlefield 2042. Stay tuned for more BF2042 tips and tricks articles right here.
